Can Indians get visa on arrival in Egypt?

Yes — but only for eligible travelers, and with conditions. Not all Indian passport holders qualify for visa on arrival in Egypt. Eligibility is based on holding a valid residency permit or qualifying visa from a specific set of countries.

If you hold a valid and used entry visa or residency from the GCC, UK, USA, Schengen zone, Canada, or Australia, you may be able to obtain your visa stamp at the Egyptian airport on arrival — instead of applying for an eVisa in advance.

However — and this is critical — the visa-on-arrival path does not remove the Letter of Guarantee requirement. Egyptian immigration still requires Indian travelers to have a valid Letter of Guarantee from a licensed Egyptian tourism company, along with airport Meet & Assist on arrival.

Visa on arrival ≠ exemption from the authorized agent requirement

The visa path changes how your stamp is issued — not the obligation to have a licensed Egyptian tourism company as your authorized agent.

eVisa path

Applies to all Indian passport holders. Apply online before travel. Letter of Guarantee and Meet & Assist required.

Visa on arrival path

Available to Indians with qualifying GCC, UK, USA, Schengen, Canada, or Australia residency/visa. Stamp issued at airport. Letter of Guarantee and Meet & Assist still required.

Same support package — both paths

Regardless of which visa path you use, the authorized agent requirement applies. Rimo Tours provides the Letter of Guarantee and airport Meet & Assist for both.

Indian passport (min. 6 months validity)

Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your intended departure date from Egypt.

Qualifying residency permit or visa

Original document showing valid GCC residency, or a valid UK, US, Schengen, Canadian, or Australian visa. Must have been used to enter the qualifying country.

Letter of Guarantee from Rimo Tours

Issued by Rimo Tours before your departure. This is mandatory — it cannot be arranged at the airport and must be confirmed before you board your flight.

Why the support package is still required for visa-on-arrival travelers

Visa on arrival changes how your visa stamp is issued. It does not change Egypt’s
authorized agent requirement for Indian nationals.

The authorized agent requirement is nationality-based

Egypt's Letter of Guarantee requirement applies to Indian passport holders regardless of which visa path they use. It is encoded at the nationality level — not the visa level.

The Letter of Guarantee is a separate document

The Letter of Guarantee is not the same as a visa. Your visa (eVisa or visa on arrival) grants entry. The Letter of Guarantee is the authorization document from your licensed Egyptian agent.

Meet & Assist is required at the immigration counter

Egyptian immigration expects a representative from your authorized agent to be physically present at the airport. This is a separate requirement from the visa — and it applies regardless of visa type.

Airlines may check documentation before boarding

Some carriers check the Letter of Guarantee at departure check-in — before you reach Egypt. This applies to visa-on-arrival travelers too. The Letter must be arranged in advance.

Both are required — regardless of visa path

Whether you use an eVisa or qualify for visa on arrival: the Letter of Guarantee and airport Meet & Assist are still required for all Indian nationals. Rimo Tours' Bronze Package is designed exactly for visa-on-arrival travelers — providing both without handling the visa itself.

Visa on arrival vs. eVisa for Indian travelers

Two visa paths — same authorized agent requirement. The only difference

is where and how your visa stamp is issued.

Who qualifies

Indians with valid GCC, UK, USA, Schengen, Canada, or Australia residency/qualifying visa

How to get it

Obtained at the Egyptian airport immigration counter on arrival

Turnaround

Issued on-the-spot (approx. 10–15 minutes)

Cost

~$30 USD (payable at airport)

Visa on arrival does not exempt Indian nationals from the authorized agent requirement. Rimo Tours’ Bronze Package is designed for this path.

Who qualifies

All Indian passport holders (no special residency required)

How to get it

Online application at evisa.visa.gov.eg before travel

Turnaround

2–5 business days for approval

Cost

~$30 USD (government fee)

With our Bronze Package, you apply for the eVisa yourself. We handle the Letter of Guarantee and airport coordination in parallel.

Common mistakes made by visa-on-arrival travelers

These errors are entirely avoidable — and each one creates a real risk at
check-in or on arrival.

Assuming VOA removes the Letter of Guarantee

Visa on arrival eligibility does not exempt Indian nationals from the authorized agent requirement. The Letter of Guarantee is still mandatory. This is the most common and most serious misconception.

Arriving without airport Meet & Assist

Some travelers book the Letter of Guarantee but skip airport Meet & Assist. Egyptian immigration expects a physical representative on arrival. Without one, the process is incomplete.

Relying only on qualifying residency

GCC residency or a qualifying visa confirms eligibility for the VOA stamp — but it does not replace the Letter of Guarantee. Both are required independently, and they serve different purposes.

Booking entry support at the last minute

The Letter of Guarantee must be issued before departure. Airlines may check it at check-in. Booking the day before or on the day of travel leaves no room to complete the process.

Both packages cover the visa-on-arrival path

Both packages include the required Letter of Guarantee, airport Meet & Assist, and pre-arrival coordination. The difference is whether you also need Rimo Tours to handle the visa application.

Letter of Guarantee + Airport Support

You use the visa-on-arrival route or apply for the eVisa yourself. We provide the Letter of Guarantee, pre-arrival coordination, and airport Meet & Assist.

Ideal for eligible visa-on-arrival travelers who do not need eVisa handling — just the entry support package.

Egypt visa on arrival for Indians — common questions

Clear answers to the eligibility and requirement questions asked most often.

Can Indians get visa on arrival in Egypt?
Some Indian nationals can access the visa-on-arrival route at Egyptian airports — but not all. Eligibility depends on holding a valid residency permit or qualifying visa from a specific set of countries: GCC member states (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman), the UK, the USA, Schengen zone countries, Canada, or Australia. If you hold a valid, used entry visa or residency from one of these countries, you may qualify. However, even eligible travelers still need a Letter of Guarantee from a licensed Egyptian tourism company and airport Meet & Assist on arrival. Visa on arrival changes how the visa stamp is issued — it does not remove the authorized agent requirement.
Yes, Indian nationals holding a valid residency permit from a GCC country — UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, or Oman — may be eligible for visa on arrival at Egyptian airports. The residency permit must be valid, and you should carry the original document alongside your Indian passport. However, GCC residency alone does not exempt you from Egypt’s authorized agent requirement. You still need a valid Letter of Guarantee from a licensed Egyptian tourism company and airport Meet & Assist on arrival. Rimo Tours’ Bronze Package covers this path — we provide the Letter of Guarantee and airport support without handling the visa application.
Indian nationals who hold a valid UK visa — and have used it to enter the UK at least once — may be eligible for visa on arrival in Egypt. The visa must be valid at the time of travel to Egypt. An unused UK visa does not qualify. You must carry proof of your UK visa and prior entry. However, this eligibility does not remove Egypt’s authorized agent requirement for Indian nationals. A valid Letter of Guarantee from a licensed Egyptian tourism company and airport Meet & Assist are still required regardless of your UK visa status.
Yes. Indian nationals holding a valid US visa — including B1/B2, F1, or other categories — and who have used it to enter the US may qualify for visa on arrival in Egypt. The visa must be valid at the time of travel. Proof of prior US entry strengthens your eligibility. As with all visa-on-arrival paths for Indians, the authorized agent requirement still applies. You still need a Letter of Guarantee from a licensed Egyptian tourism company and airport Meet & Assist at the Egyptian airport on arrival. Both Rimo Tours packages cover this path.
Indian nationals holding a valid Schengen visa — from any of the 27 Schengen zone countries — and who have used it to enter the Schengen area may qualify for visa on arrival in Egypt. A valid, unused Schengen visa does not automatically qualify. You should be prepared to show proof of prior Schengen entry alongside your Indian passport and qualifying visa. Egypt’s authorized agent requirement still applies regardless of your Schengen visa status. A Letter of Guarantee from a licensed Egyptian tourism company and airport Meet & Assist remain required for Indian nationals.
Yes. The Letter of Guarantee requirement for Indian nationals is independent of the visa path you use. Whether you apply for an eVisa online or qualify for visa on arrival, the Egyptian government’s authorized agent requirement remains in place. The Letter of Guarantee must be issued by a licensed Egyptian tourism company before your departure. It cannot be arranged at the airport on arrival. Airlines may also check for it at departure check-in. Rimo Tours issues the Letter of Guarantee as part of both our Bronze and All-Inclusive packages — both of which cover the visa-on-arrival path.
Yes. Airport Meet & Assist is required regardless of how your visa is issued. The visa stamp (eVisa or visa on arrival) grants you the right to enter Egypt — but the Letter of Guarantee and airport Meet & Assist represent the authorized agent requirement that Egyptian immigration enforces separately. A Rimo Tours representative must be physically present at the airport on your arrival date. Without this, the process is incomplete even if you carry a valid Letter of Guarantee and qualify for visa on arrival. Both packages include airport Meet & Assist.
No. Attempting to arrange entry support at the airport on arrival is not an option. The Letter of Guarantee must be issued before your departure — it is a pre-travel document, not something that can be obtained upon landing. Airlines check documentation before boarding, so the issue may arise even before you depart India. Pre-arrival coordination is also required to confirm your arrival is expected at the airport. All of this must happen before your flight. Contact us on WhatsApp as early as possible so we have time to prepare the full entry support package before your travel date.
Even if you plan to use the visa-on-arrival route, we recommend booking at least 5–7 business days before your departure date. This gives us time to issue the Letter of Guarantee and complete pre-arrival coordination before you fly. The Bronze Package is ideal for visa-on-arrival travelers — you handle the visa on arrival at the airport, and we provide the Letter of Guarantee and Meet & Assist. For urgent situations within a few days of travel, contact us immediately on WhatsApp. Expedited handling may be possible, but cannot be guaranteed in all last-minute cases.
