Egypt visa requirements for Indian travelers

Egypt operates a tiered entry system. Indian passport holders have two primary visa paths — the eVisa and visa on arrival — but both paths share the same core requirement: authorization from a licensed Egyptian tourism company.

Egypt eVisa (most common for Indians)

The eVisa is applied online through the Egyptian government portal at evisa.visa.gov.eg. It is a 30-day single-entry tourist visa, typically approved within 2–5 business days. Cost is approximately $30 USD. During the application, Indian travelers will often see the authorized tourist agent warning — which requires a valid Letter of Guarantee to satisfy.

Visa on arrival (conditional eligibility)

Indians who hold valid residency or qualifying visas from GCC countries, the UK, USA, Schengen zone countries, Canada, or Australia may qualify for visa on arrival at Egyptian airports. This is issued on-the-spot at the airport. However, the authorized agent requirement still fully applies — a Letter of Guarantee and airport Meet & Assist are still required regardless of this path.

Letter of Guarantee — required in both cases

Regardless of whether you use eVisa or visa on arrival, Egypt requires Indian travelers to have a valid Letter of Guarantee from a licensed local tourism company. Only an officially authorized Egyptian entity can issue this document. Hotels, foreign agencies, and travel aggregators cannot.

Airport Meet & Assist — not optional for most

The Letter of Guarantee alone does not fully satisfy Egypt's entry requirement. There must also be a physical representative at the arrival airport to handle the process. Airlines also verify documentation before boarding, which is where pre-arrival coordination plays a critical role.

Why Indian travelers see the authorized tourist agent warning

When Indian nationals apply for the Egypt eVisa, the portal displays a system warning that reads:

Official Egypt eVisa Portal Warning

“You will not be allowed to enter the country without the guarantee of an authorized tourist agent in Egypt.”

This is not a technical error. It is an official notification from the Egyptian government indicating that your specific nationality profile requires formal sponsorship from a licensed Egyptian tourism company — in the form of a Letter of Guarantee.

Ignoring this warning — or attempting to travel with a fake, unverifiable, or third-party letter — results in boarding refusal at your departure airport, or entry denial at the Egyptian airport upon arrival.

This affects all Indian nationals — not just first-time travelers

The requirement applies regardless of your travel history, purpose of visit, or length of stay. It is a passport-nationality-level requirement.

What the warning actually means

It is a legal entry requirement

Egypt's immigration authority mandates that Indian nationals be formally sponsored by a licensed tourism company — this is encoded into the eVisa system itself.

It applies at the airline level too

Airlines check documentation at check-in. If you cannot present a valid Letter of Guarantee, some carriers will refuse to board you — before you even reach Egypt.

It can be resolved properly with the right support

Rimo Tours is an officially licensed Egyptian tourism company. We issue the Letter of Guarantee and provide the airport representation that satisfies this requirement completely.

What is the Letter of Guarantee?

The document that separates a smooth Egypt arrival from a boarding refusal —

and why it must come from the right source.

A formal sponsorship document

The Letter of Guarantee is an official document issued by a licensed Egyptian tourism company that formally takes responsibility for your presence and activity in Egypt. It is presented to airlines and immigration authorities.

Recognized by Egyptian immigration

Egyptian immigration officials at all major airports verify the Letter of Guarantee during the arrival process. It must come from a company officially listed with Egyptian authorities — not a generic travel confirmation.

Backed by real airport presence

The Letter alone is not sufficient. There must be a physical representative from the issuing company at the arrival airport to handle the immigration coordination in person. This is the Meet & Assist component.

Hotels and agencies cannot issue it

Booking confirmations, hotel vouchers, and third-party travel agency letters do not satisfy the requirement. Only an officially authorized Egyptian tourism company — like Rimo Tours — can issue a valid Letter of Guarantee.

Required for airlines, not just airports

Many international airlines (especially from India) now verify the Letter of Guarantee at check-in, before departure. Travelers without it may be denied boarding even before they reach Egypt.

Must be arranged before travel

The Letter cannot be obtained on arrival. It must be issued by a licensed company before your departure, and the originating airline may require confirmation before boarding. Early booking is always recommended.

Rimo Tours is an officially licensed Letter of Guarantee provider

We are not a booking platform or intermediary. We are a licensed Egyptian tourism company with formal government authorization to issue this document.

Common mistakes Indian travelers make

These errors are avoidable. Understanding them in advance helps you

book the right support and travel with confidence.

Using a fake or unverifiable letter

Letters from unofficial online sources are not recognized by Egyptian immigration or airlines. The result is boarding refusal or entry denial. Only a licensed Egyptian company like Rimo Tours can issue a verifiable Letter of Guarantee.

No airport representative on arrival

A Letter of Guarantee without airport Meet & Assist is incomplete. Egyptian immigration expects a physical representative from the issuing company to be present. The Letter and the Meet & Assist work together — neither alone is sufficient.

Incomplete or mismatched documents

Passport details, travel dates, and passenger names must match across all documents. Inconsistencies cause problems at check-in and immigration. Send us accurate information when you book — this avoids avoidable delays.

Booking too close to departure

The Letter of Guarantee cannot be issued on the day of travel. Pre-arrival coordination and visa processing take time. We need at minimum 5–7 business days. For All-Inclusive, plan for 10–14 days. Book early.

Egypt visa questions from Indian travelers

Clear answers to the questions that matter most.

Do Indian passport holders need a visa to enter Egypt?

Yes. Indian nationals must obtain a visa to enter Egypt. The most common option is the Egypt eVisa, applied online before travel at evisa.visa.gov.eg. Indians holding valid residency or qualifying visas from GCC countries, the UK, USA, Schengen zone, Canada, or Australia may also qualify for visa on arrival at Egyptian airports. In both cases, a Letter of Guarantee from a licensed Egyptian tourism company is required — the visa path does not remove this obligation.

During the Egypt eVisa application, Indian nationals typically see this message: ‘You will not be allowed to enter the country without the guarantee of an authorized tourist agent in Egypt.’ This is an official Egyptian government requirement — not a technical error or optional step. It means you must have a valid Letter of Guarantee issued by a licensed Egyptian tourism company before your travel date. Airlines may also check this at check-in. Rimo Tours issues this letter as part of both our entry support packages.

The Letter of Guarantee is a formal authorization document issued by a licensed Egyptian tourism company. It confirms to Egyptian immigration authorities and airlines that a recognized local entity has formally accepted responsibility for your visit. For Indian passport holders, this document is a mandatory entry requirement — not optional. It cannot be replaced by a hotel booking, a travel agency confirmation, or a letter from any foreign entity. Only an officially authorized Egyptian tourism company can issue a valid Letter of Guarantee. Rimo Tours is licensed to do exactly this.

For Indian travelers entering Egypt — especially those who receive the authorized tourist agent warning — airport Meet & Assist is a required part of the entry process, not an optional add-on. The Letter of Guarantee establishes your authorization on paper; the airport Meet & Assist provides the physical presence that Egyptian immigration expects on arrival. A representative from the issuing company must be present at the airport to coordinate your entry. Without this, the process is incomplete even if you carry a valid Letter of Guarantee. Rimo Tours provides both — together.

Yes. Qualifying for visa on arrival — based on valid residency or visas from GCC, UK, USA, Schengen, Canada, or Australia — changes only how your visa stamp is issued. It does not remove Egypt’s authorized agent requirement. Indian nationals who use the visa-on-arrival path still need a Letter of Guarantee from a licensed Egyptian tourism company, and still need airport Meet & Assist on arrival. Both our Bronze and All-Inclusive packages cover this path. The difference is only whether we handle a visa application for you or not.

Both packages include the Letter of Guarantee, pre-arrival coordination, and airport Meet & Assist — everything required for compliant entry into Egypt. The key difference is visa handling. With the Bronze Package, you apply for the eVisa yourself at the Egyptian government portal, and we manage everything else. With the All-Inclusive Package, Rimo Tours handles the full visa process on your behalf — including eVisa application or visa-on-arrival route preparation — alongside all entry support. If you prefer to handle the visa yourself, Bronze is the right choice. If you want everything managed for you, choose All-Inclusive.

We recommend booking at least 5–7 business days before departure for the Bronze Package. For All-Inclusive — where we also handle the visa application — 10–14 business days gives us sufficient time for a clean process. If your travel is within a few days, contact us on WhatsApp immediately. Expedited handling is available in some cases, though we cannot guarantee speed in all last-minute situations. Booking early is always the safest approach, as the Letter of Guarantee must be issued and confirmed before your departure date.

To process your booking, we need: a copy of your passport biodata page, the full names of all travelers, your travel dates (arrival and departure), and your arrival airport in Egypt. If you are taking the visa-on-arrival path, we will also need a copy of your qualifying residency permit or foreign visa. For All-Inclusive bookings where we handle the eVisa application, a digital passport photo is also required. All documents are handled with strict confidentiality and used solely for preparing your entry support.

Yes — and this is exactly what our Bronze Package is designed for. You apply for the Egypt eVisa directly on the official government portal at evisa.visa.gov.eg, and we handle the Letter of Guarantee, pre-arrival coordination, and airport Meet & Assist in parallel. You do not need to use us for the visa application itself to benefit from our entry support. The All-Inclusive Package is for travelers who prefer to have Rimo Tours manage the entire process — including the visa application — so they have one point of contact for everything.

Egyptian immigration verifies the Letter of Guarantee on arrival, and many airlines now check it at departure check-in. If your letter is fake, unverifiable, or issued by an unauthorized source, the consequences are serious: you may be refused boarding at your departure airport, denied entry at the Egyptian airport on arrival, or returned on the next available flight. Purchasing letters from online platforms or unverified services is a significant risk. Rimo Tours issues government-recognized Letters of Guarantee as a fully licensed Egyptian tourism company — verifiable by airlines and Egyptian immigration authorities.
